2015: Atiku to declare presidential bid Sept 24


Former Vice President,  Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the Turaki Adamawa  is expected declare his interest to contest next year’s presidential election. He will first seek to clinch the ticket of the All Progressives Congress (APC), in the 2015 presidential elections.

According a press release, Atiku will be making the declaration on Wednesday, the 24 of this month.  His campaign will be co-coordinated by Professor Babalola Borishade, a former aviation minister.

Speaking on his proposed declaration, Atiku said:  ”This is not about me, it is about our young people. It is about Nigerians. It is their future, not the past. It is about reforming government, securing the people and reconciling the nation,”  He said 2015 was special and a potential turning point in Nigeria’s history and that the country needed to seize the moment, to give every Nigerian a chance to help redefine Nigeria as a place for them and their children to prosper and feel safe. He said a change was needed and he was ready to lead that change.
