The 1976 set of Alhuda-Huda College , Zaria Old Boys Association , yesterday honours ,Malam Suleman Hassan on his new appointment as Minister of State for Works and Housing of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
The occasion that took place at the college assembly hall , was attended by prominent members of the old boys association and other well meaning Nigerians
Speaking at the occasion , Kaduna State governor, Mal Nasir el-Rufai reiterated that education will continue to be a key priority of his administration.
el-Rufai, who spokes through the commissioner of Education ,Science and Technology, Professor Andrew Nok, congratulated the 1976 set for having one of their own appointed to serve as a minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
He said the:” College is among the numerous schools that benefited from Kaduna State government programme of total renovation to boost education in the state, and the nation at large.”
Responding, Malam Hassan said 45 years ago he worked into the college as a student and described it as a home coming.
He observed that: “The vision of any minister of the cabinet of the Federal Republic of Nigeria is that of President Muhammad Buhari’s desire of transforming the country to a corrupt free Nigeria, improve on security , and economic recovery, among others.”
He expressed delight for the gesture done on him by 1976 set of the school and promised to continue to be a good ambassador of the college. The minister urged Nigerians to continue to support the federal government in its drive to reposition the country to greatness.
