Shehu Sani, Yoruba Monarchs Mourn Late Gov. Kure

Senator representing Kaduna Central at the Upper Chamber; Shehu Sani has expressed shock over the demise of former governor of Niger State, Alhaji Abdulkadir Kure, describing him as a fearless and upright politician that put his people above self. He stated this in a statement issued and made available to the media in Kaduna yesterday.

Senator Shehu Sani added that the late Kure is one of the architects of the new democracy in Nigeria and a politician that lived by is word.

In the same vein, chairman Council of Yoruba Traditional Rulers in the 19 northern states and Abuja, Ambassador Mohammed Arigbabuwo described the late Governor Kure as a bridge builder that made Niger state home to everybody including the Yorubas.

Ambassador Arigbabuwo added that it was the late Kure that first appointed a Yoruba man from Oyo state into his cabinet and also assisted in creation of the Yoruba traditional council in the state.
The monarch prayed for the repose of the soul of the deceased; while at the same time express his condolence to Heads-of-State; Gen. Ibrahim Babangida and Gen. Abdulsalam Abubakar, former governor of Niger state; Alhaji Babangida Aliyu and the Etsu Nupe
